Inverter has lost CAN bus communication with the battery (Dyness Powerbox G2 or Fogstar Drift 16kWh). Battery stops charging/discharging.
Common causes
CAN cable not connected or looseWrong CAN port used on batteryCAN termination resistor missing or incorrectBattery not powered
What to check
STEP 1
Check CAN cable is connected to the correct port on both inverter (BAT CAN port) and battery. Dyness: use CAN port, not RS485. Fogstar Drift 16kWh: use CAN port on Drift BMS
STEP 2
Check CAN cable is undamaged and connectors are fully seated. Check battery DC breaker is ON and battery is powered
Escalate if
CAN connected, battery powered, still no comms — check Solis inverter battery brand selection matches installed battery
